Wall E

David took the girls to see Wall E yesterday. I had no desire to see this as I figured this movie might make me nauseous like Meet the Robinsons did with all the fast scenes. The girls didn't like it, but David said that the graphics were pretty awesome. Alot of the story had environmnetal issues that adults could understand, but totally went over the girls heads. I'm sure from a programmers standpoint David could appreciate the labor that went into such a project. If you saw the movie what did you think???

Look out world she's turning one!!!!

So today was my niece Emerson's birthday party. Although her birthday isn't until Wed, and since her sister is about to make her appearance any day now, we all thought it best to make the party sooner than later. What a day!!! Our journey began with two cakes in tow en route to Houston. We were petrified that the cakes would get ruined on our watch, so we took extra precautions to make sure the cakes were good and safe. I on the other hand sat indian style in the front seat until my legs fell asleep. Oh well, it was worth it to see my sister's face when she saw the cakes. The theme was candy so there was candy everywhere and Tim (E's daddy) even rented a snow cone machine!! It did rain, however it didn't stop the guests from partying outside underneath the awnings. The rain thankfully only lasted about 20 minutes and cooled everything off. The party was fabulous, the birthday girl precious, and the momma anxious. Did I mention that she was having contractions the whole time???

Happy Birthday Emerson!!!!

Happy Father's Day!!!

To all the fathers of the world, who make our world a better place with their need to provide a warm safe place with food and clothing and undying love. Thank you.

When I met this man I had no idea that he would become such a wonderful father and husband. He truly takes my breath away....I love him more and more each day.
"

And to my dad, who will always refer to me as the apple of his eye. You have taught me that hard work and a love for serving others will make the heart happy.

Fun in the Sun !

This weekend we had an opportunity to go to the Bay with ex-College Stationians, the Littles. Since David's leg just keeps getting worse we thought it best not to go..he can barely walk. So against our better judgement and the fact that our friends were having fun without us, we made a quick change of plans and off we were on Saturday. Those of you who know me know that I am a walking map. "all it takes is one time there" is a favorite saying of mine. So with that in mind I do not carry a map and for some reason, I forgot the turnoff for El Campo. Once to 59 and the rest of the way it was smooth sailing. UGH ! So we made a 2:45 trip to the bay turn into about a four hour trip. Thankfully David's phone came equipped with google maps and it saved us and got us back on track. I will never live this down!
So we arrive and we really had a great time. The weather was fantastic and breezy and NaShay's dad took us for a cruise around the bay. I've never been on a bay boat much less the bay, so I was a little apprehensive about sea sickness since my inner control freak emerges in situations like these. Nevertheless. the bay was fabulous and NaShay's family were wonderful hosts. Thanks guys for a great weekend!! We miss y'all!!

Meet Mr. and Mrs McKinley

This weekend was Carrie's wedding. It took place in Austin in a quaint chapel and the couple exchanged vows surrounded by family and I could not have been more honored to have been included. As I watched these two pledge their love and souls to each other I could not help but feel that this was the way it should be. All my selfish reservations I had had just melted away. It was God's will and we were finally at the end of her bumpy journey. Everything was going to be okay. What an ending and a beautiful beginning!!
On the way home there were definitely lots of tears shed by both me and Caroline and thankfully we had my mom to give us strength. I had really struggled this week with all different kinds of emotions. I knew this day was comming but I think I may have been in a little denial. Don't get me wrong, I could not be happier and she could not have found a more worthy man, but my prayer is that we continue our friendships and that the yearn we have to remain close will continue on.
