Like Father, Like Daughter

So today's the day...Caroline decided to wakeboard and Daddy couldn't have been happier. After three tries, Caroline was up and on top of the water and I'm not quite sure whose smile was bigger: David's, Caroline's or mine!!! I would have taken an action pic but I was in the water helping C with her start. Well folks, look out, we could have a pro wakeboarder on our hands!

Welcome to the club!!!

Today we went to Austin and visited the McKinleys. When we pulled up to the house we were greeted at the car. When I opened my door this is what I saw. Now I really feel old!!! Riley lost her first tooth and got $20 from her tooth fairy..not bad!!! We went to see Kit Kittredge (An American Girl movie) and the girls really loved it. Later we played and it was like old times. Like Carrie said, we're not sure who had more fun, us or them!!! Oh well.. I'm just so thankful to have friends we love and who love us and a husband who lets me take day trips like these. Thanks ladies for a great day!!! I love y'all xoxoxox

She's Finally Here !!!!!!

Meet Addison Riley...niece #2. As many of you know, this little one has given us and most certainly her mother a run for our money. She has kept us on our toes these last weeks and like her sister, made a grand and eventful entrance. I'll spare you all the crazy details (I'll tell you in person) of the delivery and let you know that this was not a ten pound firecracker like her sister, but a nine pound one ounce laid back little princess. I'm so excited to see what she has in store for us.!!! Welcome to the Family Addie!!!!

Happy Birthday Bunga!!!

Today my mother in law celebrates a birthday. At this very moment she finds herself at the beach surfing the waves with Caroline and Kendall and her extended family. What a birthday!!! Bunga, as you all may know is an awesome wife, grandmother, mother and mother in law. Like her mother, she has embraced me as her own. I totally hit the jackpot with this family!!! The blessings she has bestowed on me are way too numerous to mention so I will settle on just ten.
Since this lady is always behind the camera, I found it really difficult to find a picture of her. Here she is on her son's wedding day. I would like to think she's smiling so big because her son landed such a great girl :)

Ten things about the birthday girl:
1. She is the sweetest
2. She loves milkshakes
3. Has a magic closet of suprises for my girls EACH time they visit (she lives in town)
4. Has her very own day (Thursdays)
5. Will clear her schedule at the last minute to be with my girls
6. Makes fabulous wedding cakes
7. Will try everything once
8. Loves her Lord and her Faith
9. Never gets mad
10. Takes great pictures

Icing on the Cake

Last night we were invited to a July 5th party. Fireworks, food, and fun were in full supply. There is a burn ban in effect here in town so the owners of the ranch made a generous donation to the local volunteer fire departments and the fireworks were underway. We all sat in a pasture while the fireworks were shot behind the pond. They were some pretty fantastic fireworks which made the girls shout out that they were better than College Station's the night before. Thanks Heather and Jarrett for invitng us!!!!

Caroline loved the horses

Kendall petting her imaginary horse. She wouldn't go near the real ones!!

The girls got lots of loot!!!

Waiting for the fireworks

87 years young!!!

This spring chicken celebrates a birthday today. Nannie is David's grandmother and lives here in town. Don't let her age fool you. She rides her three wheel bike everyday, runs on errands around town and never forgets a name or address. This lady is tough as nails and won't let you forget it!!!
We are so blessed to have her with us here in town. When Hurricane Rita hit a few years ago, it took away her beloved home and her friends and she was uprooted here with us. She has embraced and loved me as her own. I love her stories and her passion for the Lord. She is truly a southern belle.

Ten facts about the birthday girl:
1. She was a twin
2. Loves her dog Micah
3. Still writes letters to friends
4. Meet once a month with her high school class ('38) until Hurricane Rita came.
5. Loves milkshakes and chicken fingers
6. Always sends a birthday card to all her loved ones
7. Raised three wonderful daughters on her own
8. Humble
9. Loves Dr. Pepper
10. Has never met a stranger

Happy Birthday Nannie I Love You!!!!
