I'm Baaaack!!!

My apologies for the lack of postings. Here at the refugee camp we have been mighty busy. The chaos that is Ike still wreaks havoc on our family. My whole family still doesn't have power and have found this new way of live to be quite overwhelming. Please pray that they can find peace very soon with a/c, a cool bed and quiet, soothing sounds. While we have had fun, I know they are anxious to get life back to normal. I just can't imagine what they must be feeling. While they put on a brave face, I know inside they are at their wits end.

Happy belated birthday to my dad!! Due to the hurricane, he didn't get to have the day he deserved, but still had a good day despite. A few things about the birthday boy...

Happy Grandparent's Day !!!!

As you can see, we are blessed with four of the best grandparents two little girls could have ever gotten. We have grandparents to fish with, play piano duets with, to build sandcastles with, to do "cannonballs" in the pool with, have "magic" closets, and takes us to fabulous bookstores and museums. Grandparents who would go to the ends of the earth, who never miss a birthday and who call to see how school went. These grandparents are pretty special if you haven't already guessed. We love them dearly and wish them many many more days!!! We love you Nanie and Papi and Bunga and Pawpaw!!!!

Happy Labor Day!

Ok so our friends convinced us to go to this concert at Lake Bryan on Sunday. Let me just say..it was SUPER HOT!!! There was no shade, but it was breezy. I guess thanks to Gustav he sent some air this way. Despite the heat and sweat spots in some pretty embarrassing places on everybody, we had a good time surrounded by great friends and music. These are the only flattering pics I could find without embarrassing anybody with all the sweating (yours truly included!!)
