Ok so it's New Year's eve Eve and I just can't bear to not let you know all the wonderful things the Quick family has been up to these past few months. For the two of you who read my blog, my deepest apologies for leaving you hanging!!
Halloween 2009 found us with the trick or treating with the Griswold girls and Isabella. Aren't they all cute?? Caroline and Kendall were musketeers.
David and I tagged along with Caroline's class to the Renaissance Festival. I must say I definitely liked school days much better than going on the weekends. No crazies!..it's turned down a little!!
The Girls had their Fall Sing Along. Kendall doo-wopped to the 50's while Caroline grooved to the sweet songs of the 70's.
The reason for my madness.....Charity Ball 2009 was held at the Zone Club this year. A huge thank you to all of your for your support and tolerance of me! It was a beautiful evening and I couldn't have asked for more!! All of my girls worked hard this past year and it showed!! I'm so proud of each and every one of them. The children that we service through the Junior League will be blessed by their efforts via the funding of many projects. Thank you to all my family who came out to support me on my big night!
Throw in hosting a baby shower for Kim and Ella Wright
Mix in an Open house or two...
Lots and Lots of Christmas Card orders and Sign orders. Which was a lot of fun!!
Shy Caroline tried out for the leading role as the Queen in her class play and was fabulous!! A total chip of the ol' block!
Santa dropped off a christmas present early...our sweet scottie Barkley!
...And a very Merry Christmas to you!!
Christmas came upon me in a flash as well as went by in a flash! How blessed we are to be able to make such great memories. Speaking of flash, Santa brought me a new big ol' camera! I hope to be posting much more frequently and with fantastic pics. But for now, as the house returns back to normal, I'll just settle on a few hours of doing nothing. I know it is short lived as 2010 already has lots in store for me.(Did I mention I have been selected to be VP of Fund Development for the League?) Ay!
I wish you all the best and a bright new year!! I am thankful for your friendship and the fact that you provide me an outlet for my thoughts by your caring what's going on in my world. Stay safe and everyone in a while, let me know your're out there...reading!!

And the theme is.....
For those in the know, know that last night was a pretty big deal for me. As this year's Charity Ball Chair I had the pleasure of revealing the theme for the Ball. It is usually kept under wraps till our September meeting, so needless to say it was really difficult keeping it quiet this summer. The theme this year is Sultan's Soiree..so think Morroccan, Arabian, Indian infusion. We try to make a big deal out of the reveal in order to get the excitement generating through town. So this year we brought in a belly dancer and she shimmied, and then we had a mini lesson so we could learn a few moves. I think it went well...I was so trying not to make a mistake that I didn't get to really enjoy and take it all in!! Typical...
We have lots of changes in store this year with the big one being the move to the Zone. If you want to come out and have a great time, please come...it's for a worthy cause..and hey!...it's a party!!

WAAAAAAAAA!!!
Today was the first day of school and Kendall started Kindergarten. She was so excited and so fired up. I was a mess!! Brushing her hair, putting on her bagpack, I was able to sneak a few tears here and there. She ran straight to her class and found her seat and never looked back. Much easier than her sister did starting Kindergarten. Caroline however, clung tight to her daddy as we walked to her classroom. Both girls have fabulous teachers and I am looking forward to seeing what the year holds for them and how they will blossom. As we begin this new chapter, I find my excitedness far outweighs the heavyness in my heart as I no longer have little ones, but beautiful strong, intelligent young ladies to mold and guide. Here's to a great year!!

Finally!!!
We got a double whammy this weekend with Emerson and Addison's birthday party and I also got to hold Isabella!! For those of you who don't know, I didn't get to hold Isabella at the hospital when she was born and with David's surgery taking place later that week, I was unable to get away to see her. SO I got to be the first one to hold her at the party and Nola made sure I got as much time as I wanted. WOW!! Of course David had to take his customary uncle pic with her and so he has this exact pic with all the nieces and C&K too!!. What a nut! My sisters are witholding the party pics so you will just have to mosey on over to the Griswolds or We be Winans on the sidebar to the right to see the Mermaid party. Too cute!

I'm BAAAAACK!!!
Ok, so my posting has been a long time comming...all I can say is yes, it has been that busy here in the Quick Household. Where should I begin...when we last spoke, it was Mother's day. Kendall graduated from Pre-K is now a full fledged Kindergartener. There were lots of tears, but thankfully I pulled it together long enough to take a few pics. Later that week, we joined our friends for our annual Gruene trip and it was totally overshadowed by a terrible sinus infection. So while everybody had fun on the lake skiing, I was back at the condo sleeping. The trip was fun and defintely without a dull moment!! Fast forward a few days and it's my brother's graduation. Once again, I really had to fight the tears. Mom and Dad threw David a great party and they couldn't have been prouder.Baby Caroline graced us with her presence, so a quick trip to El Campo was in order. SHe's so pretty and Jeff and Nashay will definitely have their hands full with these two princesses in the future. Phew!! THere's more... SO the next weekend was Nola's shower and we really had a blast throwing it. We stayed up till the wee hours chopping, laughing, slicing, and I think the food really benefitted from it. It was lovely to see all of the goodies Nola got and the wonderful faces who gathered to shower Nola and Isabella with warm wishes and love. The next day was Justin's suprise birthday cruise around LAke Conroe. It was fun to hang out, but I was definitely ready to get home and do nothing!!! Intermixed with all these events, was the prospect of a buisness(more on that later) a drunk driving accident (we went to render aid), a racing accident(a few cars in front of me) a torn ACL(david) and a kid who decided to cut her hair. It literally looked like a mullet and Kendall was really mad at me for wanting to even out her hair. And all in a matter of the two weeks of summer we have had so far. Man, what could the rest of the summer possibly have in store for us???

What a Weekend!!
Whew!! What a weekend. It seems that instead of the school year slowing down and anxiously awaiting summer, we find the month of May is so stinking busy! We enjoyed a little bit of "roughing it" with the Doucettes on Friday night as they invited us to their land to shoot skeet and fireworks. THe girls had never heard of skeet much less seen their father shoot a gun. They just kept staring. They got to run in the woods, ride in the back of trucks and enjoyed a great display of fireworks. If you know G he doesnt do ANYTHING small
.
Saturday we attended the Mother Daughter Brunch with Bunga. It was a really great time where girls 7 and older and their mothers can enjoy a time to dress up and brunch together. Bunga hosts a table every year, and the hostesses always go all out. She used Nannie's wedding china and had a fantastic spread waiting for us.
A special shout out to the H family for indulging us for dinner. That Mom made a fabulous cake that had us all raving. I think Kendall found a friend and has not stopped talking about him!!
Mother's day found the Quick girls in Houston and I really think this has been one of my most favorite Mother's days. I spent it working alongside my family, laughing, sweating, singing, giving my Mom exactly what she wanted for a present and has been waiting for for way too long.

And Kendall Makes Three...
Kendall's school held a family fitness day. The day started off with a mile run/walk and went on to different activity stations. Kendall ran the whole time!! Well maybe we can be the family that runs together!! It was really cute to see all the kids so tickled to play alongside their parents. I honestly don't know who had the better workout, us or the kids??!!! My words just don't do the day justice. Check out the pics to see how much fun it was.

I did it!!
Ok so the deal was I asked David to run with me in the 5K, but he wanted to see me cross the finish line, so I made him promise to do a guest post. Little did I know that he would write some crazy things. First of all, I did not smoke some of my friends, rather they smoked me and secondly, I will not be going out for the IronMan in Hawaii.
This was a huge feat in itself and I'm still in shock I actually did it. Thankfully there were no tears at the finish line. What a suprise to find that my family had come up from Houston to meet me at the end. A huge thank you to my running angel Kendall who if she could, would have ran the whole way with me. She was so sad she had to stay behind. I think I have a running partner in the making!! To all of the people who cheered and encouraged me to keep at it, I thank you. My friends are already talking about doing another one. As for me, we'll just have to wait and see....

Nichole ran a 5K. I cannot believe it. I am so impressed and proud of her. She trained really hard for it and was really nervous but she did great. She smoked some of here friends that ran with her. Kendall started and finished with Nichole. Kendall ran some in the middle of the race aswell, totaling about a mile. Nichole virtually sprinted the last 200 yards. It was a very impressive finish. I will let you know when she signs up for the Iron Man in Hawaii.
Peace out
Dave

Easter 2009
Easter was fabulous this year. We went to Houston to celebrate with my fam and attempted to take a family pic. Due to the unhappiness with our shots, it looks like we will have to wait and take another one in September. Nonetheless we had a great time hunting for eggs and then cracking some, however, my plan backfired and the girls got me!! Sunday we joined the Quicks back in College Station and there were so many eggs that they had to use both front and back yards. The girls even swam!! How blessed we are to be surrounded with so many loved ones. These are certinly memories to cherish.
