This season has gone by soo fast!! We began with a party with some friends who had a huge tree. I collaborated on a little cake for our Principal's 50th birthday, and the girls enjoyed a hayride and caroling birthday party around the neighborhood. What fun!! In the meantime Santa's workshop was busy making gifts and tassels, completely taking away the dining table for about two weeks. Kendall sang beatuifully in her Christmas Program, and was so excited to dress up. Poor girls, we have to get out more! Christmas came and went, and the girls certainly raked it in. Our favorites right now are the ipod and the nintendo ds. The family has been sharing Caroline's Rock Band, and finds David and I playing well after the girls go to sleep!! Santa brought me a new dining room table and it arrived today. The girls were eager to help David assemble it (I'll post more about it later).
How blessed we are, to have such a bounty with family and friends to share with. As this precious season comes to an end, know that we count you as a blessing to us. Your friendship and love shine bright in this weary world. We love you and wish you a fruitful new year!!!

My new obsession..
is tassels. Aren't they pretty?? I was in a open house yeseterday, and this is a sampling of what I sold. They are the prettiest things you'll never need but have to have. You can put them anywhere: armoires drawer knobs, lamps, canisters, bed posts, the possibilities are endless!! Needless to say the response was good and the party a sucess. What do you think??

SNOW IN COLLEGE STATION !!!
So we woke up to this this morning...since my camera is still in Houston, it didn't dawn on me till the girls left for school, that my phone had a camera on it. SO all the cool snowballs that David and the girls made, as well as Kendall daring to stick her tongue to the pole, will just have to be left you your imagination. I'm sure it will be spot on!! Kendall predicts that we will be having snow till after Santa comes. Caroline thinks it will be hot tomorrow so she can ride her bike to school. I guess that's Texas for you....

Splendor....
Glitz....Glamour....Giving... was what the 2008 Junior league Charity Ball was all about!! This year we decided to really focus on the giving part. So many of our donors really don't know what we do, they just cut checks to us. Instead of our typical entertainment this year, we invited the Boys & Girls Club, all of whom benefit in some way from the League to perform. Agape, a Christian dance crew of little girls came and danced their hearts out and were so precious. These girls were so precious and so happy and willing to come, I was certain that the League is making a difference. We had some teachers and students who have benefitted from the program, say a few words.
As you can see from the pictures we had an old Hollywood feel to the room. I loved it!!! The Band was fabulous, and once again had everyone on the dance floor. All the hard work this past year finally came to fruition and it was a great feeling!! We had a fabulous leader, who is so good at what she does. I am so proud to call her friend and mentor. Thank you Lizett!! I can only hope that Ball next year will be as sucessful as this years. I'm so thrilled she's gonna be working on my side next year!! Thank you to my friends who have entertained my conversations about Ball and have supported me each step of the way. My family, who has put up with a part time Mommy and wife, sister and daughter, I thank you for babysitting, dress shopping, cheerleading, donating, and loving me, as I persue something I love doing. A zillion Thank Yous!!! The night was fabulous and we accomplished the goals we had set for this year.
P.S. My mom's wreath won!!!!!

Hello Old Friend!!!
My apologies for the long time away. It's been a little crazy here at the Quick household. All kinds of fun stuff has been taking place. I know lots of you have been waiting patiently and I thank you. So buckle your seatsbelts and hold on, it's gonna be a crazy ride!!!
Caroline had her 50's Sing Along and the kids love to dress the part. They were so cute!!!
Even Mr Hawkins got into the spirit!!
Kendall had her Thanksgiving feast on Friday and we had a great time!! She was so proud of herself that she got to perform for us. She was grinning from ear to ear!!!

What is That???
A Shower and something sweet
Sunday, My Mom and Aunts hosted a wedding shower for my cousin Angelica. The shower was outside and I must say it was perfect. The cool breeze and the soft french music in the background was just so nice. The bride will be keeping her wedding very simple, but since she adores tiffany blue, we just had to have a cake in that color. You like???
Happy Halloween!!!
So we Quicks had a great Halloween. This year we were Sharpay from High School Musical 2 and a Peacock. Don't they look great?? We got to be with Emerson for her first Trick or Treat, and she could not have been any more excited to be a big girl with her cousins. Later we saw Flash the falcon from Caroline's school and we just had to take a picture. Supergirl and Pirate were passing out candy with Flash. Aren't they cute??

Happy Birthday Brooke!!!
Let me just say..this girl is definitely the princess in her house!!! Just check out her tutu !! Brooke turned 3 and she had a great party. I'm not sure who had more fun..us or Brooke. I'm thinking the cotton candy machine sealed the deal at the Quick house!!!
Happy Birthday Kim!!!
Date with Dad
So Friday Kendall's school hosts a "Date with Dad" where Daddies bring lunch and a board game to play. It's really a great idea and the teachers like to use camo for this day hence the deer and K's outfit. Apparently my child wasn't digging the photo display and wouldn't put the deer in a headlock like her father told her to.
G. N. O. !!!
A big thanks goes to our fearless leader Lizett for comming up with the idea of a Girls Night Out on Thursday. Lizett sensed that our Charity Ball committee needed to blow off some steam, so she organized and we came. We had a great time and just like we do our children when we go out, we talked about what else?..Ball. Well at least this was in a more fun setting and didn't seem like work. All of these ladies have worked really hard and I couldn't be more proud of them !!

Trip to the Barnyard
Yesterday Kendall's class made a trip to the Barnyard. I don't think this girl will be marking this one as one of her favorites. For a girl who loves animals and wants to be a vet, she did not want to touch any of them except for the baby chicks. All the animals that we saw were babies, but I guess they were still too stinky for her liking.Of course, the best part was watching all the little ones digging into their ice cream sandwiches after they were done. In all the years of going I still can't figure out why they do this right before lunch and right after we finish touching a bunch of animals and who know what else.

Let's play "Catch Up" !!
Ok so I'm a little late in posting. It's been that crazy here!!! I finally had time to get life back on track.
My family has finally gotten power!! Mom got it first on Thursday and Nola on Friday night and Kristian on Sunday morn.
I got to getting the house back to normal this morning and it turned into an all day cleanfest. To see David's face as he walked in the door and surveyed the sparkling sight was priceless. (I really didn't think it was that bad!!)
After I got the cleaning bug, I decided to do a fall project that I have been waiting to do. What do you think??? It's my Faux White Pumpkin Topiary !!!!

Friday night we went to a Cocktail Party for the launch of the 2008 Charity Ball at David Gardners. As always, the Gardners are fabulous hosts and lent us jewelry for the evening. My earrings matched Lizett's (the girl in the middle) necklace and I wore a very festive cocktail ring to boot. My shoes were fabulous, but I am still paying for the fours hours of standing in them!! I'm gonna have to talk to Mr. Santana about that one!! We had a really great time and just when we think we can't take any more of Ball, something like this comes up and reenergizes our enthusiasm for it. It's been a long road, but I can't wait to see the end product in November!!! Only one more year to go....
